Budapest is the capital of Hungary, a country located in Central Europe. It is a regal canvas painted with a sea of aesthetic Neo-Gothic architecture almost everywhere you turn. There’s so much for your eyes to feast on, so many mouth-watering smells to distract your noses and plenty of delicious traditional and diverse foods to taste.
…is easy & cheap–which is also reflective of how easy it is to have a great time and afford any activity you want to do in Budapest! From the Budapest airport, right when you exit to the baggage claim, you’ll notice signs pointing to public transportation. Now, you can a taxi, which may be around 20-30 euros–you can also arrange an airport shuttle from Hotel Moments for a smooth 40 euros–or you can use my favorite method, taking the convenient airport bus!
The 100E (airport bus) is right outside of the baggage area near public transportation–you can buy your ticket right there with a credit card or cash (Euros or Hungarian Forints) for less than 5 euros. It takes you about 7 mins walk from the hotel off of the Deak Ferenc ter M stop. It’s only a difference of 10-15 minutes or so from taking a taxi.
I LOVED staying at this hotel, not because it was a fancy 4-star hotel with excellent customer service from when you arrive to when you leave, but because it’s literally by EVERYTHING you MUST experience if you only have a couple days.
I WALKED to every top restaurant, ruin bar and famous building on my list. If it was too far to walk–I could metro in less than 20 mins. (Two metro lines that take you to the major sites like the famous Széchenyi Spa, Great Market Hall, Fisherman’s Bastion are all within 3-7 minutes walk)
It’s located on a very famous street surrounded on all sides by high-end stores (like Michael Kors and Gucci) and exclusive eats. It’s also very clean, well-lit at night and five minutes walk to the Budapest Eye, the #1 ruin bar Szimpla Kert and the impressive St. Stephen’s basilica.
Let’s just say, it was my first time in Budapest and I didn’t even want to leave my hotel room. It was SUPER comfy, and the room was so spacious! I had everything I needed & I looked forward to cuddling up in my gigantic bed. The blackout curtains and ultra quiet accommodations made it almost impossible for me to get out of bed…except for the FREE BREAKFAST!
Free breakfast at Hotel Moments Budapest
I’ve had a lot of hearty free breakfasts, but when I say their breakfast blew me away–I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t blow you away too! The breakfast room is actually their entire bistro restaurant turned into a beautiful brunch room with stations for every kind of breakfast you might want. Meals are cooked fresh and they have hot pancakes, bacon, boiled eggs, sunny-side up eggs, sausage, steamed veggies, fresh grapefruit maker, coffee, tea, Hungarian sausages and cold cuts, more than a dozen varieties of freshly baked breads and I’m probably making you hungry now, huh!? Look how fancy their breakfast room is!
Though I didn’t take advantage of massages (since I booked one at the Széchenyi spa), I did use their gym. After all the eating, I figured I should at least work out once! On their bottom floor, you’ll find the cutest & cleanest (probably from zero use) gym with full sauna, showers, towels, lockers, treadmill, a mini refrigerator full of free bottled water to hydrate you, weights & even yoga mats! Talk about luxury fitness!
You should stay here if you can! It is everything you could want in a comfy, 4-star accommodation! Perfect for a solo getaway, business trips, and couples.
